The temporary business visa (B1 Visa) & temporary tourist (B2 Visa) applications are processed at the home country’s local consulates or embassy.

Steps to follow:

1. Complete & submit the Form DS-160 (Online Non-Immigrant Application)
2. Print the confirmation page (a copy is required at the time of interview)
3. Upload your digital photo (see the photo requirements)
4. Pay the $160 visa fees (use the verification code received from filling out the application)
5. Schedule the interview at U.S. Embassy or Consulate
6. Attend the biometrics and visa interview

Documents required for the interview:

1. Current & valid passport along with expired passports that show past travel, if applicable
2. Intended travel itinerary for your U.S. trip
3. Proof of funds to cover the entire cost of travel (bank statements, proof of assets, etc.)
4. Printed version of your recent photograph
5. Printed copy of your visa interview appointment letter
6. Printed copy of your DS-160 confirmation page
7. Invitation letter from a friend in the US (see sample letter)
